CARING FOR YOUR JEWELLERY
When purchasing a piece of Asphodel Atelier jewellery, it is vital to follow these care instructions so that your pieces last you for as long as possible. Note that we cannot cover pieces that break, are damaged, etc., due to not following care the care instructions provided.
- It’s ESSENTIAL to note that no jewellery that is NOT solid gold can eventually tarnish. Our pieces are tarnish resistant. Some pieces from different stores tarnish faster than others, whereas some tarnish slower. Rest easy knowing Asphodel Atelier have tested every chain and pendant style for a month prior to releasing them.
- You can absolutely wear me in water, at the gym, beach, shower etc. However, to maintain longevity and to ensure that our pieces last you as long as possible, take them off before you get in these situations. I never take mine off, so you don’t have to either, but to reiterate, to ensure they last you as long as possible, try to take them off here and there.
- However, I do not recommend wearing the Laurel Crown Chain in water/do not expose it to moisture. This chain has various intricacies which can make it difficult to dry it out and remove all moisture. But like all our other chains, this chain has also been subject to the same tests as all our other chains and pendants, and have not shown any signs of tarnishing during, and after testing.
- Be careful with our jewellery. Do not be rough, or go to the gym and drop 40kg weights on them. Use common sense. Treat it with care so it at lasts you as long as possible.
- The Gorgon Chain is a bit of a different chain - it doesn’t fall, or move like a standard chain that you can scrunch up and pile in your hand. It has structure and care must be taken when handling it. Don’t bend, snap, play with it roughly etc.
- Store your pieces in our jewellery pouch away from direct sunlight when not in use.
- After exposure to water, if you’re feeling lazy just give it a pat down when you’ve finished showering. Or, after you’ve gotten out of the ocean, give it a quick putdown too.
- When I test our jewellery, I have subject them to salt water, perfumes, colognes, shampoo, conditioner, hand soap, and detergents; daily products that you would come into contact with. And after weeks and weeks of exposure, my pieces show no signs of any tarnishing.
